Cutie was found at an abandoned gas station in Salisbury at just four weeks old. He was alone, skinny and starving. The gas station was near a construction site so we think his mom possibly moved her kittens to a “safer” place and left Cutie behind. He likely would not have survived if he wasn’t found. Cutie landed safely in foster where he was treated for intestinal parasites. If he looks familiar, you may have see him on Facebook! Once he was healthy, Cutie was adopted quickly. His new mom sent us this sweet note along with the below photos:
“I have changed his name to Betelgeuse, named after the star because he’s a firey little guy. Although, being a spooky black cat adopted on Friday the 13th, the Beetlejuice movie reference is totally intentional. There have actually been several times where I’ve said his name 3 times and he appears from his hiding spot.
After a slow introduction, he has been getting to know my other cat, Cosmo. Although beetle is good at pushing his brother’s buttons, they’ve been getting along wonderfully and have had lots of playtime. All in all, this little guy has been such a wonderful addition to my life and I’m so grateful for the work you do for him and other cats! Thank you for letting me adopt him!”
