MRFRS’s Sunday Spay Neuter Clinics have been key to controlling the pet population in the community. We’d like to introduce you to long-time volunteer, Peggy McQuillan, Sunday TNR Clinic Coordinator, who makes sure these clinics run smoothly.

How long have you been volunteering with the Sunday Clinics?

I’ve been volunteering since 2006. I became the volunteer coordinator a few years after.

How did you get involved in TNR?

I was volunteering with the Billerica Cat Care Coalition driving cats to the clinics in the morning. One day someone asked if I wanted to help. I started out in recovery and worked my way through pretty much all the stations.

What’s your favorite hobby or pastime?

I like to ski, golf, and hike with my 2 dogs. I also like to travel. I went to Alaska last year, which was one of my bucket list trips. I do aim to get to Best Friends in Utah soon. The place looks amazing.

How many animals do you have and what are they?

I have 2 dogs and two cats. My dogs are Albert and Zuby and they are Norwegian Buhunds. They will be 12 years old in September, which I can’t believe. My calico is Keeva who I adopted from the MSPCA during one of our clinics back in 2013. She’s still shy, but she is a cutie. Sammy, whom I adopted in 2015 from the BCCC. He is the bully of the family. I guess everyone has one in the family. He’s lucky he is a handsome gray boy.

and…anything else that you may want to say about yourself or your involvement with MRFRS?

I truly miss seeing everyone from the clinics. It seems like it has been ages since we’ve been all together. Wishing everyone the best of health and see you all soon!
