The 2018 Fur Ball was a special evening to raise much-needed funds to help cats in need!

The evening was purr-fect!

The kitties that have been touched by MRFRS’s services were snoozing in the shelter, in foster homes and at the homes of their forever families, when donors, cat lovers, and volunteers gathered at MRFRS’ annual Fur Ball Gala & Auction last Saturday to ensure that cats would continue to be kept safe and healthy by MRFRS in the year ahead.

Save the date!

The 2019 Fur Ball is scheduled for
Saturday, September 28, 2019.

~ details to be announced ~

We know that every cat has a tale to tell and we're honored to meet a few of them during the event.

There were many delightful moments during the event including a chance to smooch Toto who attended with his cat dad, author Jonathan Hall, and graciously greeted his fans as he and his dad autographed copies of “Toto the Tornado Cat” during the silent auction.

We also hope you enjoyed meeting Jolene, our tiny Fur Ball guest who was escorted to Fur Ball by MRFRS staff members.

This dedicated “kitten-sitting” crew diligently bottle fed her every few hours through out the event and introduced her to supporters during the silent auction. Staff will continue attending to Jolene day and night until she is able to eat on her own and is just one of the many cats who’ll receive lifesaving care from MRFRS.

Our long time host, Randy Price, anchor of WCVB 5 EyeOpener joined us this year along with first time auctioneer, Steve Deorocki, to host the live auction.

They did a stand up job letting the audience know details about the items in the auction, encouraging attendees to bid and, of course, adding entertaining color commentary of their own! Mr. Price also cast the Fur Ball audience as stars of the EyeOpener’s “Wake Up Call” that aired on Monday. Check out the video!

Thank you for caring for cats and thank you for listening to their tales.

We could not be more grateful to everyone who volunteered their time to make this year’s Fur Ball a success and we are thankful for the outpouring of generosity from sponsors and supporters who participated in the live, silent and online auctions and attended the event.

Thanks to you, MRFRS will continue to provide care and love to cats who need help, homes and healing.
