As one of the few spay/neuter focused clinics still offering services in Massachusetts during the pandemic, The Catmobile, Dr. Deb Brady and her vet techs are proving to be a formidable levee preventing a flood of feline population explosion.
Through careful social distancing practices like staggering arrival times and texting pet owners when it’s safe to pick up their kitties, the spay/neuter team has been able to offer mobile low-cost spay/neuter services while minimizing human contact.
MRFRS is committed to adopting out only cats that have been spayed or neutered. In an effort to ease the burden on new pet families and ensure there are fewer surprise kittens, many other organizations have done the same.
On what would be her days off, you’ll find Dr. Brady and her team helping other organizations, like The Webster Kitten Coalition, spay/neuter their kittens and cats so they can be adopted to loving homes.
This tireless team also has made special arrangements to provide services for trap/neuter/return (TNR) programs for feral cats, like Charles River Alley Cats, Project Spay, and the Billerica Cat Care Coalition, as well as individual trappers and colony caretakers. In the absence of mash-style clinics, cats trapped during the pandemic are continuing to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated on our Catmobile
We are so proud of the dedication The Catmobile team has shown in these uncertain times. Their commitment to care for both owned and free-roaming cats and the people that love them is unprecedented. Their efforts will help to prevent kittens and cats from abandonment and suffering. Once again, MRFRS leads the way and serves as an example of how spay/neuter services can proceed safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
