You’ve heard the saying, “if you’re cold, they’re cold”, right? Well, the same goes for boredom. Cats need to exercise their bodies and their minds, just like people, and when they aren’t stimulated, they can get into all sorts of trouble.

So, if you’re working from home or have a little extra free time, why not take a break from the everyday monotony and teach your cat a trick or two.

The folks at Fear Free, a program dedicated to teaching vets, shelters and families techniques to reduce anxiety, stress, and fear in pets, have created a fantastic guide to teach your cat three tricks – “come when called”, “sit pretty”, and “high five”!

You can find the simple, easy to follow instructions by clicking here.

Now we know what you’re thinking. “Cats don’t do anything they’re told to do.” Try a few training sessions with your furry friend and challenge that tired old trope. It will be fun, will help you bond with your kitty, and will keep both your brains busy and your butts off the couch.

Take lots of pictures of your successful trick sessions (and funny failures) and make sure to tag #mrfrs on Instagram and Facebook so we can celebrate your cat’s new talent with you!
