This extraordinary opportunity to match your gift dollar for dollar is made possible by a group of leadership donors who have pledged $20,000 in matching funds. All told, we hope to raise at least $40,000 by May 31, 2021 to support MRFRS’s many programs, including our Feline Assistance Resources and Support (FARS) program.
FARS covers the cost of veterinary care for beloved pets whose families have simply run out of financial options. This year, with so many people out of work or otherwise facing challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of this program truly became crystal clear.
For that reason, we are designating 25% of the revenue generated from this year’s Fiscal Year End Appeal to the FARS program. FARS plays a critical role in supporting our community and will bolster our ability to keep families and pets together. The remainder of funds raised will sustain our many other life-saving initiatives.
Will you help us continue MRFRS’s important work by making a donation to the Fiscal Year End Appeal today?
Throughout the many challenges of the past year, you have been by our side. We could not have continued to serve as a much-needed resource for the community without your help. On behalf of our dedicated staff and the kitties and people we assist every day, thank you!
Musette’s family had already seen her through so much, from rescuing her as a stray, to saving her life after she turned out to be pregnant and ran into serious trouble giving birth, to getting her major dental surgery when her teeth were causing her pain, Musette’s family had always gone above and beyond for her. But when their vet found a mass that needed immediate removal, the family had run out of funds. They turned to MRFRS’s FARS program, which covered the cost of the surgery.
Today, thanks to donors like you, Musette is healthy and happy — and with the family who loves her. But there are many more cats like her out there. Won’t you help us continue to be here for our community when they need us most?
Here’s an idea of just some of the veterinary costs we often encounter to help cats in need:
Foreign body obstruction surgeries: $1,500
Surgical mass removal like Musette’s: $1,000
Dental surgery with extractions: $800-1,000
Pyometra surgery (emergency spay): $400-600
X-rays: $200
Bloodwork: $150
Antibiotic injections: $20
While MRFRS is fortunate to partner with some wonderful veterinarians who discount these services, until each cat receives treatment, we really don’t know exactly how much it will cost.
Every dollar you give to our Fiscal Year End appeal is doubled, thanks to our leadership donors. Imagine how many deserving kitties your donation will help to regain their health and get a second chance to be happy and loved!
