The price is $80 for male cats and $120 for female cats.*

Microchips may be purchased for an additional $15.

Please allow 24 hours for us to reply to your appointment request. You do not need to follow up by phone. Doing so may result in double booking of appointments.

Our package consists of the following:

    • Brief exam
    • Spay (female) or Neuter (male)
    • Rabies vaccination for cats over 12 weeks of age (weighing 1.5kg/3.3lbs)

Drop-off time for all appointments is 8:15 am sharp. Pick-up time is usually late afternoon - you will be given an exact time when you drop off your kitty.

The van locks the doors to start surgery immediately after the drop off process is complete & no cats will be admitted after this time. Please allow yourself plenty of travel time!

Because we are a mobile unit, you will need to wait outside at drop off and pick-up time.

*Cats with non-standard procedural needs such as males with undescended testicles or hernias, or females with hernias are subject to veterinary discretion and if done, to extra charges. Also, in some cases cats may need to be sent home with additional medication, which incurs an additional charge. Veterinary staff will discuss specifics with you on the day of the appointment.

Important Information

AGE

All cats should be at least eight weeks old. For the safety of your cat, we strongly recommend pre-operative bloodwork ahead of time (at your own veterinarian) for any cat over 2 years of age. This bloodwork cannot be done on the Catmobile. While we will book cats over the age of 3 years on the Catmobile, please be aware that our veterinarians reserve the right to turn cats over 3 away on the day of surgery if they have concerns about the cats’ health. Our vet will make that assessment once she sees the cat the day of surgery.

HAVE A PUREBRED CAT?

We are unable to accommodate the following breeds due to health concerns: Bengal, Abyssinian, Somali, Persian, Himalayan, Egyptian Mau, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Savannah, Sphinx & other hairless breeds. Please note that our veterinarians reserve the right to turn away mixed-breeds of these cats as well. This is for the safety of your cat.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

If your cat is not already up to date on vaccinations, he’ll receive a one-year rabies vaccination and a FVRCP (“distemper”) vaccination during his appointment. Even though he’ll get a distemper vaccination that day, we strongly recommend that your cat receive an FVRCP (“distemper”) vaccination at least 48 hours prior to their visit to the Catmobile (and ideally that they have a full FVRCP “series” on board first). You can get an initial distemper vaccine through a vet’s office or at a low-cost vaccine clinic like Vetco (located inside many Petco stores). The vaccination is a series of two or three shots, depending on your cat’s age, usually given 3 to 4 weeks apart. If you get your initial vaccine prior to your appointment, you may be able to get your 1 year booster at your Catmobile appointment, depending on whether the vet determines your cat is eligible. The distemper vaccine helps protect your cat against three diseases they could be exposed to when in close proximity to other cats, two of which can be deadly. All cats are kept separate from each other on the Catmobile, but we have no way of knowing whether another cat on the vehicle that day might be carrying distemper, so it is in your cat’s best interest to be vaccinated before being around other cats during a Catmobile appointment.

We also strongly recommend that all cats visiting the Catmobile receive good flea treatment (Frontline, Advantage – available at retail outlets; Activyl, Revolution, other – available at vets’ offices) on or around the date of their Catmobile visit! Individually packaged take-home flea treatment is available for purchase the day of your appointment for $15/dose.
